I just bought one of these engines and love it! It has tons of power and it will only get better since I've only ran 3 tanks through it after break in. I've owned a couple RB's in the past that I raced with in 1/8 buggy and they ran really good and were reliable. I looked on here before buying to see if anyone had posted anything about them, but couldn't find anything. I was just wondering if anyone has had one of these engines and what they thought about them?

Well, I've broke in the engine and I have ran about 5 tanks in it after that. All I have to say is, Damn! This engine is awesome! I have had some RB engines in my 1/8 scale buggies before so I knew it would be good. I didn't wanna spend alot of money on an engine for my XL considering I only bash with it except for one time a year when I go to Digger's, but I sure am glad I did! I especially will be glad when a year from now comes and the motor is still running like most RB's do. The money I have spent on cheaper engines to save a buck only to have them fail prematurally is alot more. I used to work or just help out at a couple different hobby shops so between that and myself, I have fooled around with alot of engines and I don't know of any other production motor for trucks that's better than this RB! I have a friend who has a modded Picco from ERCM, actually it's the 2009 long jump winning engine that Brian (on a leash) Frymyer used, who has it in a XL and my RB aint too far behind it! So, for an off the shelf engine, that's pretty good! The Picco has been run only about 3 tanks since the Long Jump so it aint wore out. If anyone is looking to buy a good quality, high performing engine, you won't be disappointed! I'd like to see what would happen if Robin were to mod one of these engines!

I gave one of those RB modded engine to an Admin here on the site. It was the best engine he ever had. He made a few a vids of it. In the end he sold everything and left the hobby. I have but don't run an rb C5 Rody Roem modded engine. I probably have a few gallons in it. I like to fire it back up and see what it could do. RB are great engines. Most people here do not run RB, simply because of the cost. Hence the Picco P3 28 Robin mod. Since your diggin in your pocket buy an ERCM pipe. The is not Roar sanctioned . It would be a beast at the WF.

RB engines are quite big here in the UK, many peeps run them in buggy's and truggy's. Good to hear they're spanking engines!

That RB engine sells for a decent price considering the name on it. They both have a triple exhaust port but the Picco has 5 intake instead of three. I'm sure it runs hard but you can't compare it to my picco until it has more like two gallons, not a few tanks. That is the older version picco with an extremely tight pinch, they don't start putting the power down until at least 1.5 gallons. I have a RB 728 that I'm working on now, maybe we can get some vid this summer with the owner and a picco or two pulling some straight lines.

Robin, I know both engines will get better after ran more especially yours, that's one reason I said how many tanks were on it along with knowing it wasn't wore out. I've seen what your engines can do, my RB has nothing for it, but like I said, it's the best production motor I've ever fooled around with. Your engines are best, period! My buddy's savy xl is insane! All I know is that you know your sh*t! Your engine will be next engine I get, but hopefully I won't need a new one anytime soon. HaHa!

Yeah that one should last you a good bit, it's all good bud, hard to gauge what people say on the net sometimes.

Robin, you are ******** me out ,I am sure my 728 will receive the same loving h/p care & attention as you trademark picco's receive.LOL

You Sir are correct, I treat every engine I work on as my own. You will be hard pressed to find another engine that can run with you once I'm done with it, I put my name on it just like any engine I do rockout
