cold air intake

i came across an air intake that uses a metal tube that runs to the front of the frame then has the air filter at the end. does any one know if this has an improvement on engine performance.

Welcome to the forum! I am not familiar with that set up, but with the long tube, I would have to say there would be no performance gain and if anything a decrease in performance.

Those filters are the worst filter you can add to these motors. You get any dust in its pretty much shot. The extended tube will not help anything as well. It actually may hurt it more than help. If you want a good filter upgrade bet the Motor Saver filters They are the best to get. If you are looking for cooler air turn it so it is more tord the opposite side than the exhaust.
