W/ the stock Teflon shoes I would inspect them after a hard bash session .. only b/c (like my Real cars) I like the engine spotless.. I would take some sandpaper and scuff the shoes up so the grab harder. W/ the stock shoes expect like 3 gallons of life out of them .. (depending on what gear ratio your using)

I love my nova shoes (w/ mugen 1.0 springs) read my review https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3319

expect like 3 gallons of life out of them also ..

Wow 3 gallons is the most i should expect out of clutch shoes?

I think I was at gallon #10 before I replaced them on the savage 25......

anyways I love the HPI aluminum shoes....

heck with the teflon shoes

I hate bashing on vendors and stuff but I had two buds that put that exact setup on their savages and the shoes went very fast, I wanna say like a half gallon. I would stick with stock before running those. I had good luck with hpi shoes but kinda pricey. Buy the nova shoes best bang for the buck!

I've run the HPI teflon shoes for both my mills. I tried the Nova shoes and somehow managed to tear them up in under a half gallon so I went back to the HPI shoes.

I run the 4.6 X stock shoes with the mugen 1.0 springs. I need more idle for other reasons, and it works great. Spools up alittle before take off! Don't know if I would recomend it on a normal 4.6.

Mugen shoes with 1mm springs. Very good set up. You will need to maintenance the alum more, then the teflon

You gotta use a really heavy spring .. like mugen 1.0 springs or you will toast your alloy shoes

I was using the mugen 1.0 springs and the mugen pilot nut, like in the review. I think I was just unlucky.
