well i bought the cen pipe and its huge btw.......i took all four screws apart to remove the baffle and all i found was a cone shaped piece that if removed the o ring seal will not work properly? I'm confused i thought that they would be 2 parts in there?.....any comments would be appreciated....so i put it together and ran the savage....i didnt see more power but what i did notice is the temps went down...so then i leaned her out a little more and she is humming right along......i also ran it without the cone shaped piece in it and sounded crazy loud....lol...my question is is that cone shaped piece the baffle? or where is the baffle located.......

thanx carlos

thanx carlos......

I believe the cone is the baffle, like in the stock hpi pipes. I think you can change to different cones for tuning purposes. Again don't quote me on this, just my 2 cents.

my stock savage has a cone that came with it and i was told 2 leave it out should i leave it out or put it in.

i think the baffle on the inside helps with low end if i am not mistaken. if they are like dirt bike pipes when i was racing ....the short fat ones are low end and the long skinnies are high end pipes. i would say if you you are please with the low end without the baffle.......leave it out.

it deffinetely sounds alot better without the baffle.......I'm gonna remove the baffle and do test runs.....ill post my opion saturday...

thanx for all the help.....

that is a convergence or divergence cone. it is what makes a tuned pipe tuned. acts as the mills valve train in all reality. But is the inside of the cen pipe tapered like the cone? If not you want it in.

I'm the guy who first tried the CEN pipe with the K5.9. I borrowed the pipe off my bosses GST 7.7 for testing and then bought my own on Ebay. It definitely helps keep temps down and if tuned right, it will provide good low end power. The proper low speed needle setting can be a bit elusive on the 5.9 from my experience. The cone should be left in. The baffle looks like the magazine of a 6 shooter pistol. Usually they come installed from the factory, but they may have quit using them. I didn't notice the pipe got any louder when I removed the baffle from my bosses pipe, so I'm not sure what the point of it was.

thanx for the info.....i guess my pipe didnt come with the baffle.. that makes sence because i didnt think the cone was it....i did some more runs today and the temps are about 240 and I'm getting wheelies out of the whole.....i need to adjust my 3rd speed to see hhow much top end ive got....the pipe seems to worth the 20 bucks i paid for it.......

thanx again....carlos

Yup. You can't really go wrong for $20. I got mine for $11, but I was the 1st one on the bandwagon! Ebay sellers should be paying me commission! lol
