can't get 5.9 to idle clean

Hey guys i just bought a savage xl with the 5.9 and i can't get a smoothe consistant idle... i'm going nuts trying to adjust it. it revs high and jumps up and down a bit, and when i try to lower the idle ... because of the jumpy idle it tends to kill itself. i'm getting frustrated and would appreciate any input thanks.

brand new engine, brand new fuel.

Did you do the break in ??

Look in the manual and check out the stock settings and re-adjust the needles to stock and try from there..

Ok so i've done a little tweaking with a little help from my local hobby shop and it's goin a little better. i'm just gonna put a couple gallons through it and see what happens.
