I'm trying to mount this on a HPI Savage X

K Dave has a few now. it comes with stainless wire when you buy it new. But seeing you got it used you don't have the wire. get some stiff wire (better then coat hanger) that fits the pipe and the pipe hanger mount on the savage. Did you have the stock pipe or the HPI polished. Polished comes with a mount that most of us use on the TVP to mount any pipe...

the only thing i've got laying around the house is probably coat hanger

Coat hanger will work for a tank or two but will break off. that is the good mount I'm talking about it the link above. your good...
