Ok...i have run the required amount of tanks with the required amount of throttle as both the manual and the forums are stating. I started tuning last night with the HSN and went about 2 to 3 1/8th turns. The truck was screaming..wheelies...everything...I had a blast. Then it stalled and wouldn't start back up. I thought maybe it was my glo plug ignitor being dead so I called it a day. Today I picked back up and I can't keep the truck running very long before stalling. I did some research and I found some suggestions for trouble shooting but wanted to also get other opinions since the truck is so new.

Here are the symptoms:
Fuel (gooey muck) spraying out of the pipe when running and dripping at idle.
As soon I engage some throttle it stalls. The truck does start no problem but at idle it conks out. It conks sooner every time.

Here are my possible solutions that I found.
Lean it out... ok but how? Turn the HSN more clockwise when the trucks off?
Install new glo plug. I did that. I'm running an OS A-5 I have some McCoys MC-8s on the way. Is this not a good plug for now????

This is about my 9th tank and I'm assuming its getting to much fuel as its coming out the exhaust and pumping out of the engine when I take the plug out and crank the motor. But not always thats why I'm not 100 percent its flooding. I'm still to new at this

Any thoughts???
Also..what is a good hump pak to purchase. I got a 1400 mah from the LHS and it doesn't stay charged very long.

I appreciate the assitance in advanced

Try leaning out the LSN about an 8th to quarter turn once and see if it gets better. Also check your idle gap,it should only be about a 1mm gap.

Thanks Dan....Thanks Steveage.....can you dumb the idle gap down a bit? Also...I'm assuming since the truck won't stay running it's ok to lean out the HSN while the truck is off???

the a-5 is a short plug, you want to pick up a long plug. i run the r-5, and a dynamite plug that the number excapes me right now.
as far as your idle concern. try leaning out your lsn 1/4 a turn and try that.
your idle screw may be a bit rich.if its idling really low, and sounds bogged down, try turning your idle screw 1/16th-1/8th of a turn. check your gap, take off your filter, and check the gap between the slide and the venturi(housing) it should be approx. 1mm.

dread...did you mean take all of the air filter off...the foam part and the hose connecting to the carb???

ahhh now I see it...i see a metal shaft like object down inside...i'm looking in from the front of the truck..engine is on my left...i see a small gap/space from the left side wall and the shaft..looks like 1mm....is that it?

Thats it! Also see if it changes at all with radio trim-you want it to stay at 1mm and maybe make it open a little more when you turn trim to the right on radio.

Dave

yeah....its about 1mm and didn't move when i turned either trim knobs to the right or left...they are set back at center now and my idle needle and HSN needle is back to factory...this way when i get the right glo plug...i can try to start fresh....

Everybody gave you the right answer and it sounded like your HSN was set pretty close to perfect. It's now time to lean out your LSN. If you've got unburnt fuel spittin out the exhaust stinger then your LSN is definately rich. Try what others suggested and lean out the LSN about a 1/4 turn and go from there. When tuning, you always start with the HSN, then goto the LSN, after both of those are set, you adjust the idle screw if needed. Like I said, everybody all gave you good advice, I figured I'd just sum it all up in one easy reply. Hope it helps. And welcome to the forum if I haven't done that yet.

Thanks Everyone!! I will put all of this together and post an update after I troubleshoot further. You guys roCc!!!

whats up fellas....i put the mc-coy MC-8 plug in..leaned the LSN out a bit and set the idle...i must say the smile is back on my face....and man is this thing quick even with 40 series tires/rims...WoW...

Thanks again!!!!
