Hey All,
This is one crucial part of my truck that I haven't spent anywhere near enough time on so far. Basically I have such crap breaking at the moment that its frankly a bit dangerous now that my truck is getting faster with the breaking in of the engine.
I've tried adjusting the plastic end to get more breaking applied when the servo actuates but that still isn't enough really, applying full brakes just slows the truck down over a fair distance until it stops. Its not like slamming on the brakes to stop quickly ... I just wouldn't be able too at the moment.
I'm running a 1400ma hump pack so power isn't an issue. If I grab the plastic adjuster and pull the truck forward with that the brakes bite the disc and the thing won't move so the actual brake set-up is good to go ... so to speak! 😉
I've recently chucked a HiTec 645MG at the steering which means I have a spare SF2 stock steering servo lying around not doing anything, would this be a good temporary brake/throttle servo in place of the SF1?
I've also heard that its a good idea to put a length of fuel pipe in between the end adjuster and the servo horn on the break linkage so I'm going to try that too.
Also I've heard loads of things about a hofna linkage upgrade, are there any links to these items?
The future plan is to shell out a good wedge on a really fast high torqe servo for the steering and then swap the HiTec 645MG in for brake duties so I know where I'm going with all this but that doesn't help me now.
Any thoughts?
