You do realize that your savage comes equipped with an in tank filter?

I use these but it was installed prior to realizing it already had a filter in the tank. They can come loose and will then leak air causing a lean mixture problem.

I put mine between the body mount and shock tower which hold it securely and doesnt come loose that way. regardless of where you put it mount it.

Doesnt matter which way the fuel flows but I put mine so that the flow from the tank would be on the outer screen for ease of cleaning.

The in-tank is usually a stone filter which is there to stop larger particles over the in-line filter. When in the past I ran them I always had the filter cone tip pointing tward the Carb line.

However, I do not run in-lines hardly ever anymore because of the problem like Dread stated, to many of them leak air.

I have it on the truggy just for more volume of nitro not to actually be a filter. I took the sintered filter out of the can.... The in tank is the same filter. 2 filters add restriction. If you listen to the modders they say don't run it due to the restriction..

Thanks guys. I'm going to try it anyway just to see. I'm also taking all points of view concidering everyone has an opinon. Thats why I ask questions. I appreciate everyones advise. I already brought the filter so I might as well try it out. I have had stone filters in the past and never noticed any dirt or particals in the element. Hey ScooterB thanks I didn't know that fuel tank had a filter in it already. To tell you guys the truth I haven't started building it yet. Kinda finishing up another build at the moment. Thanks again guys.
