So I've had the F4.6 in the Savage for a while and love it. One of my favorite aspects of the motor is how it holds a tune and Roto-start. Yes roto-start!! I hate pull-start! But now I face a dilema.. I want more power! I'd love to get a picco but I don't think they can be roto started. So here it is..

What motor that is roto start capable would you guys recommend?

I usually bash and go mudding looking for torque, top speed not important (pretty sure that depends on gearing). If that helps. Thanks again.

Here's one I found:http://http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNZW1&P=FR

Picco 28 is a good choice. Get a modded one from ERCM. I believe it's the HPI Roto back plate that fits it.

yes if you want a engine with all the power you could ever want,is very tunable and holds a tune forever lol then a picco modded by ercm would be a awsome choice,

So, the hpi roto start will fit the Picco? I know the crank has to be compatible? Is there a specific model Picco that will work?

i believe that the only real things you have to watch for is the screw holes aligning and the hex on the picco fitting the hex for the gear on the roto

like i said...... the losi spin start will fit. the picco has a backplate thats the same size as an SH/dynamite/losi/lrp backplate.

The Savage F4.1 roto-start fits the picco perfectly (I don't recommend roto's), it does require a wheel hex from an RS4 or other small HPI RC for spacing and to hold the spring straight.

Why don't you recommend it? does it hinder performance at all?

A pull start is cushioned by your hand when pulling the engine over and will tell you if something is going wrong (loading up). A roto start just hammers away regardless of the engines condition, broken one ways become your way of telling if something is wrong.

Roto start on my picco .26 took me out for two months this summer It broke my oneway in half and they were impossible to get.

yes the losi spin start will fit, not sure if you can get to it through the shock tower though. i have all pullstarts, and i have no problems starting my engines quickly.

the ERCM Picco P-3 .28. best engine ever....period. best modder ever. anyone that disagrees with have a tank in their front yard on their vehicle. period.

LMAO!!!

You have an OS .30? remember we run big boy engines in our savages, not small blocks in our traxxas rc's. I would love to hear your arguments, please share them with us.

no, no no. i was just stating my opinion i just expected someone to call me out and start yelling at me about it.

dude....this ain't that kinda forum......please don't bring that negativity here!
