I finally got started building last night and everything was going well until hpi screwed me. They have updated the diff gears and included new inst. Problem is they gave me 3 updated gears and one old one. The don't mesh. Stopped me in my tracks. I did everything else I could do. I guess now I'll have to call hpi and wait for another gear. Another week with out a baja. I want to run this thing.

I got an SS the other day. I think I would have the old gears. For me they forgot to include the bag of tools. First step in the manual open tools bag, what tool bag? I borrowed one of the tools from the LHS and have built the baja though. I painted the first colour on the body tonight. I just don't have a hump pack for mine yet.

Sounds like they are having some Qaulity Control issues :duh: I'm sure if you call HPI they will send you what you are missing....

ya from what i've heard hpi does go out of there way to keep there customers happy so I'm sure they will take care of ya but its to bad it had to happen in the first place hopefully you will be up and running soon!!

Its hard to get good quality work from those 6 year old Asian kids in the sweat shops...... lol J/K

Since the rest of the kit went together perfectly I wouldn't say they are having quality control issues. These are the only 2 issues I have heard about too.

You wold be surprized how much this happens. We constantly get calls from people saying that there Baja SS kits (haven't had any problems with the RTR) are missing parts or they have the wrong part at the LHS I work at. Between the Baja SS and the Firestorm they have to be the worst vehicles on having problems off the shelf. The Baja just usually has just the wrong parts, while the firestorm is always missing stuff. Almost everyone has missing clutch shoes, carburetor out of wack, etc.
