bad carb?

My F4.6 has been acting up as usual, but this time I can't figure it out. The truck will only idle for approx. 20 seconds even with a carb gap as large as 3mm. I think the carb is bad because i noticed where the airfilter sits it is malled but the inside is fine. Also, when I let off the throttle the rpms seem to be sticking up high. What is going on?

could be to lean on the lsn or your throttle trim is off

Wayyyyy lean .. set back to stock settings . go from there

Check your batteries also

Put your idle gap to .5mm, having a big gap will cause all sorts of tuning issues and mask others.
