Always cut vents

I just really over heated my picco .26 racing on sunday because like a noob I didn't think. I have not run a body on my savage all year and I had my motor leaned to the max. It kept temp at about 250-280 just bashing not driving it wot a lot.

Sunday I put a body on it with no cut outs to get air across the motor and ran it hard well needless to say I cooked it. I replace the glow plug and it is running just fine but I am sure that it will not last for much longer now.

Just warning everyone make sure you have vents cut into your front window and side ones too if you can and if you go from running topless to putting a body on retune. Destroying a mill is in no way fun.

wow.. thanks for the heads up man.. i always tune without my body then when its sounding / running just right i toss the body on and go. Gonna have to cut a vent up front when i get home. Thanks!

I've seen the abuse that he's thrown at that motor. I'd give my right arm to get a motor from the same production line as that one!

i always cut out the vents but when you have a custom body or whatever you always hate to start cutting holes in it lol but i do anyway....

I didn't know temp guns would read a temp as hot as my motor was. The fact that it didn't melt amazes me let alone that it started again. Seeing a motor that hot is enough to make a grown man cry.

I cut out my windshield and used my dremel on the grill of my stock XL body to make it look and function like a real grill. Came out pretty cool I think. I'll have some pics of my truck to post soon.

Theyre tougher than you think. Run it. Ive seen a few hit 450ish and run for another few gallons. Picco.26 is a great mill.
