you can machine a insert for the stinger of the hpi to make the in id ~8mm as most high performance pipes have that size for the stinger that will increase the back pressure and give you a little more performance

I don't believe the pipe is whats holding it back .. Its a .36 Not a .18 .. your never going to get a decent topend.. bottom line .. Maybe crash can help you out with the modin.. Gain somemore rpm's ..But yeah I was surprised that the sleeve was cut .. cool beans

I have the new 5.9 pipe, its not the same old design everyone is used to, its a new dual chamber design that has a lot better back pressure design, there is a reducer allready in the stinger, that doesnt let out as much air as you think, just to be sure I have my stinger reduced in size, and I didnt notice any difference, or at least a very negotiable one at that.

About the modding on the modding, If that sleeve/crank were to be modded I highly doubt it will be lacking any top end, I don't know the timings on the engine, but I'm sure there is quite a few tweaks to be found to improve the high end, I'm allready picturing what I would do with sleeve if I had one.

There is alot of top end to be gained with the right modifying and timing alterations. :FarleyParty:

Adam, I'm sure you can make this engine rip, have you got your hands on one yet? I read your article in xrc, you did some nice work on that OS.

I have done a few for customers. They were all VERY pleased with the performance when they got them back. Top end comes to life with the right timing alterations and modifications. This engine stock has good grunt but falls short on the top end.

Thanks for the mention on the Vspec in XRC. Puts a hurting on the stocker :jamout: and is ALOT smoother as well. Also has GREAT run time!

Once again a good thread is ruined by attitudes. I have cleaned up this thread to its original content. Please stay on topic and enough with the this mill is faster wars! :duh:

Um ok, I am no mod, but this thread was intended to be a discussion of the porting and the crank of the 5.9.....not what pipe is better, or what motor will blow that motor out of the water.... Everyone is allowed to have their personal opinion. Anyone who knows me, knows I am very opinionated... but I try to keep my comments on topic and polite...so yeah, what do you guys think of the ports on the sleeve of the 5.9 yes I think some more power and RPM's can be gain with some work... just radiusing any square edges on the crank would make the motor more efficient....

Thanks alot sunk for posting these pictures, Ive wanted to see the sleeve and crank for some time. I would rep you but I gotta share some before that happens.
