Will not shift into second gear

I have the 4.6 and about every 3 gallons I have to replace the clutch holder/hub because of wear to keep it shifting. I assume the 21 Savage transmission is similar.

    Savage Engines for Late 2016

I haven't tried them yet and I believe Argus are made by Alpha plus. I watched Ryan Lutz race buggy and truggy using Alpha engines and it was impressive! RW mods did have a link to an Argus .28 roto start engine not long ago. An email to him would be an easy way to find out if they are still...

    Savage Engines for Late 2016

If I were in the market for an engine today I'd pick up one of these: http://www.novarossidirect.com/LEGEND28-8_p_3226.html http://www.rw-mods.com/argus-engines2.html or one of the LRP spec.4's

New one way bearing problems on the Savage x4.6

https://www.hpiracing.com/assets/documents/tutorials/roto_start_compatibility_guide.pdf rotostart info from HPI site might help you figure it out if there isn't a part number showing on the original larger bearing.

What pipes are you running with an LRP30 or LRP32?

I wouldn't think the pipe is causing issues then. Definitely wide open spaces is best for me with this thing so it's easier to compare settings. Today I took it to a soccer field. Almost 3 gallons thru mine now and with the cooler/denser air lately it no longer overheats and is more stable...

What pipes are you running with an LRP30 or LRP32?

Sounds a lot like my lrp .30. I've only used the aluminum stock and now the tsais exhaust; no change. I was able to richen the HSN enough to eliminate hanging idle and LSN set for decent response and about 30 second idle but the window is tiny and the idle has to be set higher than on any...

    Tsais header&pipe

So yeah I tried it out. Basically no difference in tune, power, temp. or sound from the stock aluminum setup. I really like that it uses standard sized gaskets and no more zip tied coupling tho.

    Tsais header&pipe

Yep the stock X SS aluminum pipe. This one may be more restrictive? Anywho I like the header and I could try my werks 2058 or other spring coupled style pipes I hope.

Savage x4.6 - Full throttle problem

Hopefully just a tuning issue. Good luck and welcome to the site. You have come to the right place and I'm confident all your Savage information needs can be found here. ;)

Savage x4.6 - Full throttle problem

I did some searches on here and found k4.6 factory settings and searched tuning guide etc. I think you should do the same and do some reading. I wish I knew how to have quoted or linked what I found to this post but I'm sure you can search and find them too. If that were my x 4.6 I would make...

    Savage X 4.6 diff maintenance

I use Dawn dish soap to clean gears, cases, etc. I also use it to clean air filters. It really does cut the grease and its mild and cheap.

    Savage X 4.6 diff maintenance

I use silicone diff fluid 3-5K in rear and 5-10k in front because I always have those weights on hand for tuning my buggy diffs. Grease gives diff action a little more free than 3K silicone give or take.

What did you do to your HPI Savage today?

I ran 3 tanks through lrp .30. Held it wide open as much as I could trying to blow it up :nailbite:. The air temp. was low 50's and engine was making serious power. Fun times!
