My mate just called to say he has got me a servo off one of his other mates. Its a hitec hs645mg. If he is correct then its a 9.5kg servo. turn speed is 0.20sec not exactly fast, but its free so I am not complaining. Might go bashing tomorrow, and scratch my new bodyshell!! LOL

    Need a new body

Heres the pictures as promised of my bashing savage. And this is my 6 year old daughter, after she was thrashing my truck at the park so she could tell her friends how cool her dad is. If these pictures don't work, then tough luck, I am really crap with computers! :sothere:

    Need a new body

I have just made a new shell from 1.5mm Aluminium sheet. It was lying around my workshop and I thought "why not", "how hard can it be?"... I will post pictures when the paint has dried. I know it will dent, and the joins will split, the paint will scratch, but thats all part of the fun for me...

My mate gave me his old steering servo from his old MTA4, I fitted it this morning at 8am..... took the truck out for a bashing at 8:30..... blew that servo at 8:35, just after warming the truck up! Turns out the MTA4 uses a 3kg servo for its steering! How does a truck whick weighs more than...

    How strong?

Ok, thanks for the help. I like the idea of the 7955tg, but its way out of my budget. I have to do it on the cheap. I have done a conversion on the 200oz servo and that only gives 5kg. I am told the standard servo is a 6kg, I am looking now for something about 10kg. But I hadnt thought about...

    New engine

I have just bought a used savage 25 engine complete with clutch and exhaust etc. I have also been given 2 gallons of 16% fuel... ...would it do any damage if I uae this fuel with the savage 25 engine? What difference in performance would there be between 20% and 16%?

    is it time to convert?

    New engine

Yep I have taken the back off the engine, the oneway bearing has failed, but the crank also moves backwards, which makes the conrod hit the inside of the engine casing. There is damage to support this. This would explain why the engine just stops after 10 seconds. I give up with this crappy...

    is it time to convert?

what size motor and esc do I need for a savage?. I am not trying to break the land speed record, but a bit of speed is always fun

    New engine

Its not the slipper clutch that got shedded. It was the centrifugal clutch and bell housing!! I cant get the engine to run for longer than 10 seconds, so I am rapidly losing patience so £10 spent might be a good thing to do, rather than spend £200 replacing the engine again!

    New engine

so far I have had to replace the starter unit, and the engine had so much power that it detroyed the centifugal clutch, now the bloody thing wont run for more than 10 seconds. I think I better take it to a model shop to get it set up. before I break it with a hammer!! lol

    New engine

I will, let you know how it goes........ just as soon as I get a new starter, cos it has lost a tooth on the main gear of the roto starter! My luck never gets any better!!
