Another question is how hot does a bell gear get? Mine seems to get rather hot, and I'm wondering if it would melt the plastic spur gear? I know the clutch shoes work on friction with the bell gear, so some heat would happen.
So I had some bad luck today, as my truck body jammed my throttle all the way on and my truck ran away from me. During this my trucks flywheel melted and then my engine revved really high as there was no load on the engine. I started back up right away and it fired up like normal.

So local Hobby Shop didn't have 30wt so 25wt is what it will be. Ordered some white beadlocks. I love the look and also re useable as well. I started on the RSC conversion today, very cold in the garage right now. I will post some pics when finished.
So to get up to speed, in the last month I got RSC for my birthday, and now big bores and badlands tires for my savage X from santa. Some questions....
- What weight oil are people using in your big bores?
- Should I belt my tires?
- Maximizer Beadlocks with offset or without?
I would like...
Why A Mid Tank
When I first got my savage X and looked at this site, I thought I would never do a mid tank. I have done the Cen / Mugen midtank and love it! This is the way the Savage should have been designed. I don"t notice any lean issues, which means more consistent tuning. If your running...
Question, since some *** hat stole my jug of fuel, (I live in a condo and kept my jug in my underground parking stall) I had to buy some new fuel, and the only 20% my lhs had was traxxas top fuel. I know I will have to re tune, but is this fuel going to be OK?
I know before the mid tank I would only tune with less than half a tank, it's nice that I can have a more consistent tune / power on tap. I do also have a good hex set, I didn't check much out of the box, which was my mistake.
Hey all, so I just finished my mid tank build , and ran it at my local track (First Time Off Road) and everything went fine except some screws came loose. One in my steering, one on the chassis, the set screws on my throttle linkage, and after a hard landing I shifted my motor mount. I regraded...
