I try to find a happy medium between the shocks being fully extended to fully compressed. Usually if you top them right off with the plunger at its halfway position you should end up fairly close.
(p.s. really work out those air bubbles before topping it off)
I don't think you want any bounce back out of your truck, if it were to bounce landing jumps would be neer impossible.
Swat cat if you look close at hpi's dirrections you'll see your supposed to top the fluid with the plunger in, if you top it right off with the plunger out the will be...
Checked the saver out and it was 1. too tight and 2. junk. Its an alum upgrade and the alum pitted basically catching both arms diabling it from actually moving. That sucks two $50 servos toast and now I got to get another!!
I'll grab a pic tonight. Its a HS-645MG hightech servo. I was told by the lhs that they were pretty tough and now each lasted less than a minute. I maybe got 1/2 a foot of air with my truck and once I landed all the servo would do is grind!! not good..So now i'm curious if my servo saver is to...
Can someone tell me how to properly adjust a servo saver on an xl. I've broke the stock servo and now toasted 2 high tech servos on light impact so I'm suspecting the saver is either overtight or undertight. thanks
no, it wasn't worn out at all, the bottom "skirting" on the piston broke into peice and ate its way thru the motor. It totaly looks like a casting flaw to me. From some of the research I've been doing its actually becoming quite common.
Finally got my new axial 32 yesterday!!!!!!
I don't think 5 tanks of fuel has ever taken so long to burn off!!!!!
I started to tune it at tank 6 today and WOW I'm already way more impressed with the 32 vs the stock 5.9. This thing has alot of power and torque and I'm only 1/2 turn lean past...
exuse my lasyness for not doing a search but when you port a sleeve what do you use toolwise as well how do you know when you have the proper angle for it to be done right??
p.s. I don't think i'm ready to try it yet I'm just kinda curious on the rules behind it.
always good to hear both sides of the story!! I had no complaints about my 5.9 till the piston deteriorated after 1 gallon and hpi gave me the improper tuning lead to abuse of the motor story.
yah I was impressed with the power but the whole piston crumbling apart after 1 gallon really ****ed me off. I'm still gonna rebuild it as a spare mill but am pretty excited about the 32!
