Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm hoping someone will be able to assist me with this issue, it has me & my mate baffled. It's probably so simple we are just not seeing it.

My savvy is bing a cow. She will start & iddle fine, however struggles to go up through the revs & cuts out. The clutch is struggling to engage as the revs are not there. The only time it gets up to a proper rev range is at the end of the the tank no matter what I try with tuning. (I am aware of the half tank lean issues.) I have just replaced the clutch & bell as my old 1 was sticking causing it 2 cut out after pull away. I also replaced my one way & changed from a pull start to the rotostart. The shoes where the same as before, as was the bell. My m8 hade a look at it today & done exactly what I did (makes me fell less stupid at least. lol) We have gone back to base with all needles & tried starting from scratch at least twice now, with no real improvement or worsening.

I'm runnin K4.6 with 3 spd box, steel 47t spur gear, 17t vented bell with integy ali clutch.

check all your lines for leaks. it sounds like a rich issue to me tho since when it gets the the bottom it runs better(leans itself out) i say work at tuning and check you trim to make sure the brakes arent on full time.

Brakes are free, fuel system has a slight leak on the cap if u don't give it a little push when u close it, but other than that it's tight. have gone back to base then in as far as i felt comfortable, past where it was running fine before, without it making any difference at all.

it sounds to lean when you go to take off its not gettin enough fuel,an air leak will cause it to run like poo and it will shortin the life of the engine as well. i have the k4.6 as well and its a touchy engine with it haveing the mid-range needle

I am going to have to agree with the air leak. My brother-in-law was having a similar problem and it was from his air filter not being all the way down on the carb.

I would dbl check your air filter, make sure there is no obstruction and is cleaned/oiled. Also check your fuel lines, bend them, pressurize them to check for cuts or holes. I have also seen that sometimes clutch springs were not in the groove on the flywheel nut. Other than that your on the right road with starting over with tuning from base. Hope any of this helps. :buttshaker:

Agree with 88gta, sounds too rich to me. How many turns clockwise did you make on the HSN? There is not a standard setting on this needle, but I think you need to lean it out a little more which will get your rpms up. After the HSN is dialed in, then adjust the lsn in small increments and only if you really need to.

Thanks for all the replies guys, turns out it was the fuel tank.We changed the tank & the fuel lines to be safe & after some re-adjustment got it going again.
