Well Losi needed their own XL, they call it the XXL. (clever)
It has an extended chassis and bigger motor... sound familiar?

to be honest, that thing has quite a few one ups on the xl. it comes with all ball bearings, specktrum 2.4ghz system, twin steering servo's, reverse.

I'm still a savage fan, but that thing isnt all that bad.

Ah, the only good thing about it is the radio. The longer chassis is a waste. The lst2 was already long enough. Bigger engine...27 to a .28 lol. Those rims suck also. The dish wheels were a lot better.

I have an LST2. They arent geared like a Savage. With equal engines the Savege will be around 2-4 mph faster. Most people eliminate the reverse anyway. They do a forward only conversion and flip the gears the other way to get a little more top end.

The two servo set up for steering isnt nearly as good as it sounds. I would rather 1 good servo. Most people end up that way with the lst anyway.

The dogbones barley fit in the cups. They wear faster. The sandwich chassis design is a PITA to clean and the truck is two pounds heavier than the Savage XL.

They do have a nice ride and handle well. A good cross between basher and racer. this truck is an obvious attempt to outsell the SXL. Big fail IMO.

HPI really needs to get into this era with their electronics. No more AM and plastic gear crap. Other than that, the Savage is king of bashers.

I like Losi, but other vehicles. I would never replace the Savage with one of these.

I think that the truck will be like the Revo 2.5 to 3.3 move. If you own a 2.5 the advantages of selling the truck to get a 3.3 is not that great. Its just a little bit of extra length and hype.

On the other hand, Losi and HPI are playing this game of who can put out the most repetitious vehicles out there. I don't mean to rag on the savage but how many versions can you come up with? And the Losi LST 1, 2, AS, Raminator (good lord!) etc are kind of mind numbing. The XXL will just be another LST 2 with a little bit of more frill.

To me, I have a LST2 and I love it. It is not a kit that is making me want to either buy it or sell my LST 2 for it. There is not enough "new" on it to warrant it.

With the above, Losi, HPI, and Traxxas need to get creative over reinventing the wheel over and over again.

Just my buck o' five; cause that is what freedom costs =)

The LST out of the box is a good truck. Arguably better then a savage but the savage is so easy to customise. I think it is easier to make a savage bullet proof then an LST. The LST is probably a bit easier to turn into a racer though.

This XXL does have some nice features like the radio.
