hello guys i got a situation.... i wanted to start my sts 30 engine after being on the shelf for nearly 2 months... but it wouldnt start... wat i did was take the engine apart and what i discovered was where the rod connected to the piston was shattered.... i wanna take it out but the sleeve has to come out first. the sleeve is jammed and i cannot take it out...

any advice??????????

try sticking a zip tie in the eaust port and slowly turn thge motor over make sure you use lots of ARO to lube the sleeve up

except that with a shattered con rod, turning the engine over can be impossible 😉 hence his dilemma...

you may need to try the oven trick, or the freezer trick...there was another thread the other day that had them described in it...someone remember where it was?

Fasail look down in the top of the cylinder and see if there are any scratches above the ports to the top of the liner. It sounds like this rod broke while trying to start it. So that would be at a low RPM.... Just might be salvagable... I hope......
