when i first got my sav from the LHS it ran awesome.
couldnt keep the front tires on the ground. couldnt keep all 4 tires on the ground for that matter.
anyways, a bit a go i posted a issue about it not running right.
thought maybe it was the glow plug.
i replaced it, ran ok for a bit, but now again it seems to always stall out after a good WOT run.
or after i jump and it hits a bit hard.
its getting kinda annoying.
i replaced all the fuel line and pressure line as well.
thought maybe it was a lean issue, so i richened it up a bit.
not really seeing a difference.
 
well its a bone stock savage x. 4.6

the LHS did all my tuning.
i replaced the plug maybe one tank ago.
i checked the plug and it glows fully orange, not like half as the last one did.
not sure how old the fuel is, its my first gallon, not quite through it yet.
cant remember the brand, but its from high octane hobbies, and its 33%.

but the stalling mostly happens when it lands after a jump and the odd time after WOT.
 
Did you watch the videos to see if it was your tune or not?

Have you looked at the carb and backplate to see if anything has come lose?

Have you looked fore holes in the rubber coupler thats between the pipe and header?
 
ya i pulled the mill out and noticed a few screws loose and such.
tightened it all up.
pulled the head off and checked the piston, its barley brown.
i mean i don't even have a full gallon in it yet.
but ya ive watched the vids a few times already.
i pulled the seal off the back of the mill to the header and now with the exhaust back on it seems tighter.
gonna giver tomorrow after work and see how she runs.
 
Make sure to Loctite all the screws that go into metal and that will make it stay together longer. Usually till you want to take it apart, but I like to check all the screws every gallon just to make sure.

I'm starting to have this same problem. I land after a jump and truck bogs then stalls.

I do remember when I first got my truck (used) I had a bear of a time getting it to run right. Mine would always stall at 3/4 throttle. I looked up the instructions online and it said specifically "If truck stalls at 3/4 throttle you must turn the ___ needle ___", I just don't remember which needle and which direction. If someone can fill in the blanks, try that. (I can't look up the instructions, I'm at work and the computer won't open Pdf files)

Your guys problem sounds to be with the LSN (this is if your have nothing else wrong with the engine). Can i get the engine to still if you rapidly pull the throttle trigger fast, to sort of simulate a jump landing? If you can, your LSN is set to rich. Through the jump are you pulling to WOT? or release mid-jump?

Are you guys running FM radios?

one other problem my be cheap fuel and/or glow plugs.
 
well after i screwed with it here after work, found out ya my LSN was way to rich.
i leaned it up and shes getting back some of her umf. lol.

but what i did notice is it will stall when i brake.
I'm watching the carby and is it suppose to close all the way when braking?
cause I'm starting to believe its cutting airflow when i brake.
 
No, the carb is not supposed to go fully shut when you apply the brake. Just a hunch, but this could also have been adding to your idle issues. Make sure the throttle trim on your remote is set to zero, or neutral, set the carb slide gap to 1.0mm then check your carb linkage so the carb is not opening when the servo is at zero. If this happens to be the problem, you will need to adjust the LSN again. Hope this helps and you get it fixed.
 
ok so how do it adjust my carb slide gap?
i figure ill just adjust the linkage untill i get it right
 
there is a screw on the right side of the engine. This is the the idle set screw where you will adjust the gap to approx 1.0mm Look in the manual, section 2-9 (should be page 15) and it will show you the location of the idle set screw and how to get the 1.0mm gap. I would have pasted the pic in the thread, but having issues doing it.
 
ya i adjusted it.
thing is it was idling just fine untill i pulled the brake, then it just dies like a choke.

ill try it again and see what it does
 
my k4.6 engine is stalling as well and wheels are spinning out of control and cant control it to keep it just idling normally.. anyone know what the problem is??
