K5.9 listed finally on HPI

The K5.9 has been listed on HPI's main site as a optional engine for all models of the savage.

Wow I don't know about that. That is kind of steep for the price.

Looks like an Axial product to me and yes a steep price but you would get it for much cheaper than that from a dealer as soon as they come out.

Yeah I thought that also Larsen. From the Grey style Axial looking head,down to the blackened case. Hopefully its a turbo head, but I'm a doubter.

So far all I have found about the specs is:

Now the engine thats listed for sale on the HPI site listed the K5.9 as a 3 port.That pic there from the Savage XL page list it as a 6-port!! :dunno:

Yeah most definetly. Remember when they first listed the Savage XL as $866? Its now down to $580.

I hope the engine price follows suit.

Yeah thats what I want to know, its comparison to the LRP.
It may just be a torque monster with not alot of top end, or it could be a beast with all range power!!!

I'm hoping for the later.

It looks great, if I don't buy an xl first this will be the next motor I try.

As for the price, you gyus have to look at the other list prices of the other motor on the site. for example the list for a K4.6 with pullstart is $309, http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/15201/ that is only $30 dollars more than the list for the K5.9 so you can probably get a pretty good Idea how much these will cost.

It looks like they are also going to sell the SAVAGE XL CHASSIS CONVERSION SET . I'd be quick to try this as cheap extended TVPs.
