My second weekend of being able to use my savage, Friday (off work) and it rains all day.. so no savage =( so I installed my reverse module. I then designed and cut out templates for my custom body. Saturday comes along.. really nice day, a little windy.. but a great day to play. So I get all setup take everything down to the field and setup. Go to start my savvy, and the pull cord come right out in my hand and wont retract.. so I take a look behind the engine and the pull start was hanging off the engine, so I pack it back into the car and go off shooting with my girlfriend for an hour or so. I get home and fixed my pull start. coils shooting out everywhere and pieces of plastic flaying around the room. Looks like there was no threadlock actually used when the pullstart was installed at the factory!!
So with the pullstarter all fixed, I took it outside mt house to play around on the road.. oh, I forgot to mention I also have a HPI ribbed exhaust now.. lests just say everything down my street was looking out of their windows. None the less, I have a little fun and did a little tuning before it went dark!
So, here I am on sunday. Another nice day, so I decide to take my savvy out for a spin by my girlfriends grans house.. first tank of fuel, everything is going great.. running nice and cool at around 130-135 deg C. Having even more fun of my second tank of fuel when I lost total control of my savvy. At first I wonder if I have got some water in the electronics box.. but as I got closer it became responsive again. Upon inspection.. somewhere along the line I lost my antena (the whole thing). I am left with this tiny stump of whire sticking out of the back of the reciever. So my next job is to solder a sew wire to the reciever..
Great weekend, but didn't go exactly to plan.. but, it's all great fun!
My girlfriend got a lot of excersise turning the car back on all fours after I flipped it on the roof a few times. So I think the next thing is a roll cage!
