Another new addition to my collection. Picked this up from ebay last week & arrived today. Got it for a steal as well. Been sitting for a long time by the looks of it. It is all complete with the box and looks like it has had very little use. Will need to be stripped and cleaned. mill still has amazing compression. The carb has glued it self shut due to old fuel being left in it, and the 2nd gear clutch seems to be seized, other than that very thing is as it would have been 20+ years ago when it was new. Even came with it's original 40 MHz crystal Cirrus 3CFM hand set.
so now I have 3 projects on the go, An XTM Mammoth Stadium Truck, a Frankenstein Buggy & now this. Looks like am going to be very busy for a little while. LOL.
The XTM ST is coming along nicely, almost complete, which I must say is quite a feat on it's own as parts for it are like rocking horse poop.
Managed to get nearly all the parts from the UK which really amazed me but have had to source the 2 speed clutch bell from Australia with postage costing 3 times the price of the part. Am having to modify a set of rear lower wishbone for the front as they are non-existent anywhere & will have to cut and shut a set of front CVD driveshafts to match, but HayHo I do love a challenge. Pictures of that will be uploaded soon.
These XTM models are stated as being 1/8 scale but are more like 1/7th, being 1" or 25mm longer over the wheelbase than an XL Savage.

No bud it came from Derby DE21 area. And no to having a Mac .28. Have only ever run Force or HPI mills except 1 Thunder Tiger .28.
Pretty sad that considering I've been into RC's for over 25 years. I must be a creature of habbit, LOL.
These XTM's are a complete new learning curve for me. For the last 15-18 years it's been nothing but Savages, Like I think I said before, I have 13 of them at the moment, All are different in their own way but Savages never the less.
I was just blown away the 1st time I saw one, think it was because of the Twin Vertical plate chassis setup. Up till they came out every Monster Truck was just a beefed up buggy and as we all know suffered from bendy chassis syndrome when bashed hard. The Savage cured this problem by sandwiching all it's main component beyween the TVP's.

I've just realised there is nothing wrong with the 2nd gear clutch, the 2 gears are locked together by the 2 speed clutch bell. when it's assembled. Pretty obvious when you think about it. Think the word 'Dickhead' comes to mind, but like I said, its all new and a learning curve.

Good find Gazz, for the wheel drives I found that losi LST drives are exactly the same, I broke one on mine and the losi parts went right in, the arms are specific to this model only, none of the others will work, I hated the wheels and tires so I used a set of Redcat 3.8 17mm hex wider offset wheels and some 40 series tires, makes it much more stable, I may have some arms if you can't find any closer to you... let me know if you need any help, the rig is a really well built platform...

@Jam 1
Yep she's going to be a peach once it's be stripped and cleaned. will replace most of the hardware with new stuff as some of it has pitted with rust. have managed to clean and free the carb slide so that's good to go. The dust boot on the slide has spilt which is a ball-ache as had a spare but only last week gave it to @Vinni so have had to buy a new one, well got 3 coming always good to have spares. For what they are, they are a ridiculous price. Although the mill has good pinch i think I'm going to have to change both front and rear bearings. Haven't stripped it yet. left it to soak overnight in fresh fuel then filled it with after-run oil but one of the bearings don't sound right to me, yet another ball-ache. Looking down inside at the crank and it looked well rusty from being stored with old fuel still in it. But the over night soak has done it the world of good. I do hate it when people leave perfectly good models like this, what a total waste of their money. If the guy I got this from had taken 5 minutes of his time before storing it, he could have got top dollar for it as it has had next to no use. Doubt if it's had more than a couple of tanks through it. The underside of the chassis doesn't even have a scratch on it and the whole thing is bog standard with the carb still at factory settings. The word 'Muppet' comes to mind.
But hay, his loss my gain. There one selling on eBay at the mo for £360 with 11 watchers last time I looked. I got this for half that price and it was still boxed which is a brucie bonus.
