How's everyone doin?

My F4.6 engine gave out and HPI agreed to send a replacement part to my LHS. However, the replacement piston and sleeve are on back order just like a majority of all HPI parts. Does anyone know what the deal is with HPI?

Anyways, I couldn't wait any longer so the customer service rep agreed to give me store credit equivalent to the price of the replacement parts. I was looking into engines and noticed the Dynamite .28 Big Red engine. Can anyone provide me info on this engine. Will this engine fit directly to my Savage X or will I need parts to fit this engine? I did the reviews and a majority of owners had good things to say about this engine. The only issue was the pull/spin start combo where the pull cord would come out. I do have the Nitro Start that came with the kit. Will that work to spin the spin start?

Hey...dynimate big red is a good engine for your money ..i got one in my savage x... plenty of power....the engin went straight in...no mods needed

Thanks for the reply! Finally got it the other day and it went straight in and just like you said with no mods. I've heard terrible things regarding the pull start breaking however I had the Nitro start that the Savage came with and it started right up. Had issues at first but once I ran a few tanks of fuel through it it starts pretty easy.

No problem. .. yes the pull start sucks..i use the roto start but i love the engin tho..I'm running traxxas #7 plug with 30% fuel...well enjoy

I replaced the stock .25 engine in mys Savage with a Mach.28. Night and day. as mentioned earlier, the pull start sucks..

The Big Red its a great engine for the money it cost, one small problem its the pull start it has the rotor start the will break and leave you only with the pull which its kinda short on my opinion but there is an update for it , a longer pull cord and its heavy duty plastic which its nice , it goes for $19bucks i believe, easy to tune great power and if you have the ss with the 3rd gear you might need a mile to hit it lol but other than that its a great nitro engine for $149.
IMO one of the best engines out there!

Hello, I just bought this engine.
How did you installed rotostarter from savage to big red? The distance between mounting holes is bigger.
Have no idea about true factory carb settings. Manual says HSN 3,5 turns, LSN 2 turns. But the settings were set on factory are completely different. I did not count so I have a problem now. Could you please say basic settings?
