Besides the Savages and the BAJA this little 1/10 scale Associated SC10-GT2 screams in the Dunes with Paddles on. Fused two fuel tanks together with J.B. Weld and doubled the run time. Has a TIGER DRIVE for starting and I Modded the Body so I can Fuel up without having to take the body off.

Surprised JB Weld stuck to the tank. I tried fixing a crack in a few with JB and it would never adhere properly. Even after cleaning with DA and roughing it up with fine sand paper.

That's exactly what I did Except both tanks where brand new, patched the old tank when I first got the Buggy as had crack in it only difference is I used Berryman Carb cleaner it takes off the oil from fuel. Note don't use Brake cleaner !!

Well olds I guess you were right , Ran maybe 3 tanks through the Buggy and the JB Weld let go. I had used the Original JB Weld , Found something from Loctite that's for "Plastics" . Before I roughed tanks up a little ,this time I hit hard with some old 80 Grit and used the
Plastic Bonder after cleaning with Carb cleaner. Will give update after I let it cure and run the Buggy again.

Nitro fuel eats through all of that stuff. Not much you can use and be successful unfortunately

The engine is not stock, looks like a hot bodies engine. Neither is the filter. Assuming that other components are stock though (like the exhaust, shocks, TVPs and radio box), that is a Savage 21 RTR.

Yeah the engine is hot bodies. Any idea where I can find parts. Need a glow plug and starter. Wanted to know the model so I could get a shell for it. So thanks for help mate

Haven't fired up in over 10 years. Has full light kit. Twin headlights, fogs, tails, brake lights and reverse. Might sell it.

I also have an original Savage 21 that I started using again with my 9 year old. It had been sitting in the garage for the last 10 years.. Was working perfectly until last weekend. I opened the engine yesterday and the rotostart plate was loose and the rotostart pin fell and broke in the engine. Lots of shredded metal in there.. =( Can you guys please suggest an engine replacement that won't cost the price of a new RC truck ? Of course a little more power to get the front end up would be welcome...

New shell and custom battery tray holders happy how they turned turned out erverything matches nearly ??

Was able to get loaded. Only pics I have. I also have a flux XS in pcs at the moment, a blitz ese also missing a few parts. And my son has my wife's losi strike.

So this my xl, i used to have an lrp 30 in it, but after a recent operation its just too painful to pull the pullstart so fitted a force 36 and roto startD1BE93DF-F3E6-4519-8E94-B8E08FF32571.jpeg07FDED99-ED3A-4A29-B456-A86BA7739DDC.jpeg1B5D596B-DB4C-4BCE-A0BC-ED3D4C015002.jpegD1BE93DF-F3E6-4519-8E94-B8E08FF32571.jpeg07FDED99-ED3A-4A29-B456-A86BA7739DDC.jpeg1B5D596B-DB4C-4BCE-A0BC-ED3D4C015002.jpeg

My love and my pride :)
going with a truggy look if you will on my savage XL with the original and still kicking K5.9
Compared to a Baja 5b this thing almost fits in the 1/6 scale with these tires on.
The weight of each individual tire is just under 490grams where as the stocks weigh around 310 ish.
making it 720grams heavier.

Still need to replace the clutch shoes and bell since they have seen better days.
With a leaner tune this thing can still pull wheelies with the worn clutch and extra wheight.

Did a little porting on the crank and also on the sleeve boost ports to get a tiny bit extra power. Usually people don't recommend porting these engines as they make plenty power. I just have the tools to do it and its never too late to start and learn. IMG-20210424-WA0020.jpegIMG-20210424-WA0022.jpeg

The only thing that has failed so far on this engine is the header coupler connecting to the block and the pipe coupler connecting to the header(tearing and leaking air/fuel/burned fuel/oils).
[new couplers, clutch shoes and clutch bell are on its way]

meanwhile i changed the -arms, hubs, shock towers- to a purple tinted alu material and replaced the stock dog-bones for thicker heavy duty CVDs to improve rolling and smoothen the power to the wheels.
this was done after the above picture where taken.
