I know some of you will poo poo on this idea, but I'm going to ask anyway. I have a stock Savage X 4.6. I'm not a competitor and live in a residential area. I would like to know if there is a way (perhaps a different exhaust) to make the engine a bit quieter. I'm not in need of maximum performance (my driving skills are not that great anyway), so I don't mind if there is a drop in performance.

Not the answer I was looking for. I have done electric, and while fun, I really do enjoy nitro. I'm not looking for silent, just quieter thenn stock.

When u got your truck it came with a silver cone install that in the pipe try that ....not sure what it does I think its silencer and gives more torque in stead of speed ...don't qoute me but worth a try

the cone gives more bottom end. changes the power band and makes it quieter. nitro 2 strokes need the resonance off the pipe more than a gas 2 stroke so there are no true mufflers for them.

If you don't care about the drop in power try the old black plastic pipe or if not I have an retarted tuned pipe that is the quietest pipe I have ever seen but proformance is that of a savage being pulled around the yard by a small child.

Thank you all for the information. I think I'll just have to get used to the noise. This is my first nitro (new to the hobby and my only other monster truck was electric). I just need to adjust to the change.
