Okay I had a bone stock savage x, I bought a Ofna 086 for it off ebay, today i took the stock one off, put the 086 on to notice that it has to go on backwards...is this correct? Also the stock one uses that purple rubber sleeve in between the elbow and the pipe, the 086 does not, so it is much shorter, therefore I cant use the stock front mount for my 086, is there a mount i can buy to hold it on there better? its sturdy now but i don't wanna take any chances

Yeah I think the 086 is a buggy pipe but everyone that uses them on a savvy just turns them so the stinger is pointing where they want it. As far as the hanger is concerned, I don't think there is one that you can buy that is designed specifically for your needs but you could just make one out of heavy duty wire or re-bend the stock one to make it work. Some of the guys that have used that size pipe may have a better tip for one that will work, but one could be made easily enough and it would probably cost next to nothing.

Use a piece of coat-hanger

I'm going to sound like a n00b here, but how is your exhaust and header connected up? I have a new 053 and I'm using a typical rubber coupler like I had on my stock HPI pipe. Your setup looks way cleaner...

see how that exhaust hanger is at the bottom? Its holding it in that position. I also agree.. very clean.

Jr i think he's talking about the 1-piece design of the pipe mounting to the header with the springs vs the rubber coupler

can you post a shot of your ercm pipe so he can have a better look?

Yeah, some use the rubber coupling, and some use a spring type setup like you see in the pic that Hyp posted. If you don'e have the matching header for the 086 you may need to get it. Although, I'm sure there is a way to make it work either way.

AH nice, thanks guys. I didn't realize what the little spings that came with it were for. I suppose the black rubber ring is for this as well. I thought it was for the exhaust port of the engine, and the header was being pushed off when I used it! It all makes sense now...
