i have a savage x running a rota start at the min but wanting to change to pull start is this a straight forward change? sick of charging roto and carrying it around.

Yep it's fairly simple to do mate, what engine are you using F4.1? You wont regret going to pullstart.

It is a straight forward swap. Just make sure you get the right pull start for your motor. There are 2 verisions of HPI's 4.6 motor and they take different types of pull starts.

the difference is the design of the one way bearings for both engines.

I regretted it. Got sick of breaking $25 pull starts every other time I took my truck out. And yes, I WAS very careful with them, particularly the last one I had. Still broke almost right away even though my truck was starting easily. The HPI pull starts just have crap springs IMO. Went back to roto for now. I may try an axial PS though someday. Maybe the k5.9 has too much compression for the pull starts? I don't know, but I'm done with them for a while.
