I really don't know how to explain. But my first Nitro was a plane witch i had to start by spinning the propeller back wards and letting go. (you had to watch your fingers with this thing) any way it would start and i would have to start spinning the thing in circles with a string attached to one wing. you could let it out just like a kite (the more string you gave it the further it would go)
i have searched and cant find any info on them and would like to see a vid or some pics, id also like to know if any one else has had one of theis???

that was my first "rc" too. got it for Xmass when I was 9 got my finger in the prop and mom took it away from me.

heres a vid of a bigger one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LO-ZeDpTN8 nothing like I had mine was a F16 looking plastic thing and maybe a lil over 1 foot big

Thats pretty cool, its really hard to see how hes getting so much control from just one line.

I got pictures in my mind of that thing going outta control spiraling round wrapping him in the line and the plane getting closer and closer with every turn lmao id poop myself lol

my sister's husband had this plane as a kid. it came up in conversation last x-mas and he found the motor in his parents attic (no plane tho)

it was made by Cox.

i remember those, i had one as well that i grabbed at a garage sale just for the heck of it, never thought it would actually start but it did!!!

just the up and down movements gives you more control than you would think (kinda like a stunt Kite), it took me and my dad a couple days of crashing that thing replacing propellers and cutting our self's on the propeller when starting it. to figure the controlling That propeller was like:chainkiller😱n your figures.
