Iknow, it might sound nerdy, bu i have a 6k$ pc, and i wanna be a showoff :) i'm going to upload pictures when i get home :) just had to post while i remembered my idea, short term memory

sounds like a "purpose-built" computer? is it so expensive because you host websites or online gaming or something?

i have a mac, no upgrades, just take it out the box and use. don't really know much about computers but I'm interested to see.

6k on a pc is flat out crazy. Unless you do alot of rendering. I spent 4k once one an Alienware... Dumbest thing ever. I just built a new one for 1500.00.

OK here is my pc built
Asus M4A87TD evo motherboard
Phenom Black Edition six core processor 3.30GHz
8 gig ddr3 memory
geforce GTX 260 896mb ram
ocz 1000w power suppy
1tb hard drive
250 gig back up hard drive
Thermaltake M9 case 6 80mm fans and 120 mm side fan
and for operating system i got it tripple booted
Windows 7 64bit
Ubuntu
Fedora

24 inch optiquest

thats my current pc about 3 or 4 years old now and thats the new case its in

didn't feel the need I'm planning on a mild over clock nothing too serious. like i said this machine is a 3-4 year old cpu and don't wanna fry it. temps have been staying plenty cool with fans on lowest settings on stock settings. once i get time I'm gonna bump up this 1.86 to roughly 2.5 2.6. i've had it as high as 3.06 and was stable for 12hrs at 100% process using orthos. but comp shut down due to high cpu temps.

We know what LJ does with his, but do you use your for? Nice setup. Remember if it makes your hair fall out probably shouldn't be doing that

intel core 2 extreme quad core 3.0 OC to 3.33 per core had it at 4.0 but was getting to hot
EVGA Motherboard
4 gigs of ddr2 memory looks like there is only 2 sticks there i think i took this picture before i bought the other 2.
1 tb HDD
1010 watt power supply
two (running SLI) geforce 8800 GTS video cards with 320mb of memory
