When it is cold my 4.6 will start with very little trouble, but as soon as I have run a tank of fuel through, re-fill and try to start again, it is almost impossible. Even if I wait 10 minutes it will not start...any ideas. thanks.

This Is a common problem.. Due to a temporary loss of compression.
Just let it cool and restart,

When my X was new it did the same thing, but after about 1/2 gallon of fuel through her, the problem just stopped.

I had this problem too a while back and it ended up being a little lean on the bottom end. That, combined with the engine being a couple gallons old, was causing me all kind of headaches.
Welcome to the forum BTW.
