I went to a blokes house 4 miles away to pick up some parts and found hes a keen enthusiast and theres more near me. He showed me his new truck it was 1/5 scale savage truck now i want to build one where will i find the extended tvps to at?

Japan has the 1/5 savage TVP's. The LHS has two in stock thats been there for months. They have the 1/5 Savage RTR for like $645 dollars
You mentioned seeing it for yourself. I have seen it run here in Japan and i am disappointed in what the designers where thinking especially matching it with a 5.9 motor. Unless you are going to put two nitro motors or not want to go fast, then the 1/5 savage is something you might want. I believe the TVP price is about 100 ish. I am not trying to discourage you but giving you my opinion.

Where does one find a body for a 1/5 scale, preferably not buggy or sc truck?

at kershaw designs, they also sell 1/5 trucks but i noticed they are so expensive!

The 1/5th Savage TVP Chassis in Japan are $68 a piece; so $136 for a pair. Hardware is not included.
