I am looking to upgrade my standard AM radio system to a FM gigaherz system, though i don't know which one to buy. Right now i have just my savage but am already looking at other rc to buy for other purposes so i need a radio with model memory and if posible a failsafe (the thought of my savage flying sown the road into the sunset at full speed only to get hit by a car or run into a wall makes me lose sleep) and that will have everything that i am going to need for the coming years of abuse that i am going to put my savage through. My friend is recomending the airtronics m11 which is about $250, it looks like an awsom system and id like to buy it but id like to hear the wise words of the experienced.

I have 2 3PM FASST setups with 5 vehicles. I have not had a bit of trouble from any of them.

Thats sad, if it was your savy it may have survived with minimal damage. I just got my first savage and i am surprised at how durabe these things are, i went bashing last weekend and ran my new XL up a 20+/-ft dirt hill in a quary and got about 10 feet or so off of it and cleared the whole pile, to bad my throttle decided not to work and i landed strait on my lid (with stock rollbar) 🙁....then it proceded to bounce and land upright and it shruged it off as if nothing happened and i continued to bash for another houro two. Then after a simple jump the crystal in my savy broke and it tried to run off on me 🙁, thats why I'm looking at a new radio.

ha nice. buy a new crystal just incase you have bad luck like mine so you have back up. you may wanna run zip ties around your bump braces to to keep the pins in the arms. i was out a week waiting for new pins before i found this fix. the stock roll cage in fine for a while. ust besure its raised over your engine head a bit.

allready got th rollcage situation taken care of (my savage is pictured in my avatar) i got a nylon rollcage fabed by main5t and i love it, But as for crystals, i already do have a new set but idont want to have to worry about breaking them again (even though a friend of mine said its next to imposible to break them before something else), not to mention i like the respose of my friends system, oh and thanks for the heads up on the braces, my local hoby shop is nice and all but they have a habit of never having the parts taht i need. Quick question for you even though it deservs a new thread (tried making a thread no one responded)

i have a CEN 7.7 tuned pipe for my XL and am running the pipe with the header that came with it, my question is:
does the header make that much of a difference for a tuned pipe? becuase the header for the pipe i am running makes my pipe sit close to 2 1/2 inches further forward and also forces the rear end of the pipe into the air. The reason i ask is that the header that came with it is slightly larger in diameter and even bigger than the exhaust port on the motor.

I've never had a problem with my Spektrum DX 3.0's. I have 3 radio systems, not one radio for 3 trucks.
