which engine

hi i am looking for the fastest engines out there for my savage 25 and would also like to know what i would have to upgrade to handle the extra torque and on its way now is a Tsais C5H pipe thanks

Their is tons of motors out their to choose from but when you get more power like you said you will need to upgrade your drivetrain. I would get alum. shimmed diffs if you don't have those already installed and HD driveshafts.


As far as the motor choice is I would look into an Axial 28, OS 30VG or LRP.


I personally have not ran any of these motors myself but I have seen all three of these motors run at the local track. I run an STS 28 and it is ok but it could be a lot better than it is.


Somebody else will chime in with thoughts also.......

As for the Axial their is several different versions of it......I am not sure which version is the best but someone else will be able to explain to you better than I can.

I personally have the Axial .28RR, very nice engine but I think I would personally get the LRP again. The novarossi are very nice but are very expensave and there are a quite a few engines that will run with then like the LRP, Axial .28RR and so on. Basicly when getting the Novarossi all you are paying for is them to seal the engine, So if you get a cheaper engine LRP, RR then seal it which is only about a 10 min job and very easy to do. Good luck choosing threw the many engines out there.

Personally the OS .30VG has good power but is a pooch up high. But this engine will hold a tune and run much more consistant that prety much any engine available for the savage with the power.

The strongest motors out are the RB Concepts 928 and the Novarossi 528. These motors will tear drivetrain up pretty quick. So if you plan on either one of these motors. plan on upgrading drivetrain. For the price I would not spend it again. You can only get so much power to the ground. My recommendations would be the LRP spec 3 or the new axial .28 rr. Both very sick motors

I am running the LRP with the JP3 and all I got to say is sick. This week I will test the BUKU on it, can't wait. The engine already has a nice powerband.

The novarossi 528 only has horsepower ranging from 2.50 to 2.87 and the O.S. 30VG has 3 Horsepower are there any engines that have 4 HP or above thanks

I'm sure the motor the Team Associated put in the MGT 8.0 RTR has around 4HP. But I'm sure its not a reving machine.

Its so big i would dought it would put out the rpms that say the RR and LRP do. Also probably has a fairly low HP but good amounts of Torque.

I have to agree I have the axial28rr I love it so far my buddy has the LRP28 he loves it both are real good engines
