If you use the roto start or pull start and you go to turn the mill over it wont fire it will just slip ..
By then your OWB is gone you have to get a new one or take your old one out and clean it up with WD40 and you can get a few more runs out of it ..
What he said. My OWB is dying right now and I can crank on it all day with the roto start and it will only hit every now and then. I usually get lucky and it grabs long enough to start the savy.
My motor is completely torn down right now. I was just gonna pull the cover plate off the OWB and clean it up but I ended up tearing her down completely just because. Everything still looks great inside and the piston still has a good pinch. Was a little surprised about that. 🙂
