Hey all. Am dropping a small fortune into the Sav (just bought a NS K4.6 and back plate) and would like to upgrade the servos (still stock) but don't have the extra cash for a radio as well. I have read a few threads and the Hitecs are mentioned alot, but seem to require a digital radio. I would like to use the stock radio for the moment. Any suggestions on a servo pair??...oh, and a good hop-up servo saver?? :Mr.confused:

cajun,

I just got a set of JR servos

I also am useing a stock radio. we are limited not having a digital radio
but, the JR racing servos are cheap and tuff ( so far)

I know you mentioned you don't have the funds for a new radio, but going digital on the radio/servos was the best upgrade I have done for the truck.

I bash with a lot of guys with crystals.. while they are trying to figure it out, I am already up and running. And no one can jack my crap up.

By all means you don't have to get a digital radio. You can run digital servos and all from a analog (Stock) radio just fine, they wont be quite as accurate as they would be on a digital radio but will be just fine. If you looking for cheap the 645mg's are great with good power, decent speed, and vary strong for a low price of roughtly $32. You hear alot about Hitec as they have good products for nice prices, once you go to Futaba servos they are usually more expensave and JR is just a bit higher than Hitec.

They are all great servos its just comes down to which one to pick. Steering speed isnt huge but torque is but you wont use anything over 250oz as the servo saver will absorb it. For throttle you don't need anything over 100 but it don't hurt, Speed is nice here but doesnt need to be the speed of a Gyro for a heli.

I do want to say this though it is worth saving the money and going to a 2.4ghz radio. I run several Futaba 2.4 3PM FASST radios and love them. What a great inexpensave radio.

Hitecs HS 645MGs are great bashing servos. I was debating on something a little faster for racing but haven't been able to give up my 645s and 5645s because they have worked so well for me.

Thanks for all of the info guys. Just ordered the Hitec 645MG (pair) today and the OFNA linkage on Larsen's suggestion. K 4.6 Motor, 16T CB, bacckplate, OFNA Hump pack, servos, linkage, and screw set from Tony's should be in by Friday, so I should have a busy weekend.
