VSM - WRONG NUMBERS very inaccurate

i installed a venom speed meter on my truck yesterday and i ran it today but I know the numbers or reading w.e. u wanna call them are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY offf.......i know what the problem is and its the calibration (sensor turning full turn to meet again with magnet). My sensor is on the front shaft drive shaft. i might have gotten the calibration wrong so is there any1 with ideas that could help me or any1 with the right calibration maybe can give me their measurement ....?????????????



would appreciate anything because i know my truck can't do 187km/ph

use a ruller ont he ground and set it up thats the way i did it to mine back int he day

rear drive cup, the one that attaches to the pinion

this is the only disadvantage of the vsm...........how do you know your calibration is right though????

you don't, just gonna be a rough guestimate i ran min next to a car to see if it was on and mine was. think the most i got my savage up to was 49 or 50

i also wanna ask you do you measure from the middle of the wheel or the back to see the measurement....?????/

middle of the wheel where the hub is, and a wasp .26

does it matter if the black color on the tiny magnet is gone???? will it make a difference in the reading???

i have the tiny magnet about 3mm away from the sensor so i think thats close enough........but like i said the black side of the tiny magnet isnt black anymore. the black color is gone....it that ok....???........or does it mess up the measurement? ???

would appreciate some answers....

mine was silver from what i remember so i don't think that matters, also mine was really close, like a mm to the magnet so close in fact it rubbed when i jumped so i took it off the thing isnt very practical

try putting sensor a bit closer to the magnet and re calibrate its only gonna be a couple inches for calibration it doesnt take much turn of the wheel to get the drive cup to spin fully

I'd say 3mm is fine as long as it is picking it up on the speed meter which it sounds like it is.

it is picking up on the speed and everything but the number are definately wrong.................my truck did 31mph according to the vsm with a modded engine brand new sts 30. i don't think its 31 i think it should say something more like 50mph...... w.e. ill try to fix it tonight ad see what happens i got a savage X btw

i still didnt run the truck with the sensor 3mm close to the magnet....will try it tonight
