does anyone run the smart temp. i just bought one,set it up like the directions said and when i tried to run it,the first minute it was fine then while i was idling around it went full throttle. i had to make it flip so i could cut it off.i picked it up and the temp was 150 (it is set at 284) and the voltage was 3. and i have it set at 3, volts. so i took it and charged it up,took it outside and it did the same thing again. that temp was in the 180's
and the voltage was 3.. when i first turned it on the volts was 5,7. so i got it out today and decided to hook it to the steering cause it might be safer and about a min after starting the truck the steering quit.the temps was way below the 284 setting but the volts was showing 3.
i can unhook it and it is fine, i just cant figure out why it is messing up on the volts.
any ideas anyone

I have heard a few bad things about that unit. I have the Venom micro failsafe and it has worked flawlessly for 2 years now.

The micro failsafe (by Venom or OFNA) seems to be the best way to go. Very reliable and its easy to hook them up and just forget about them because you know they will work when it comes time for them to do their thing.
