upgraded gearbox

Iv heard of Ti transmission gears for savages, google searched a few times but never been able to find any. Cant remember where i read about them now either.

Theyre 40% lighter according to HPI, id imagine with all three of the gearbox shafts swapped to Ti would be quite a significant weight loss.

Pricey tho.

yea but it is 60% of nothing those things don't weigh much to start with. Have a hard time seeing any advantage at all unless they are shiny because as we all know shiny parts make your truck go faster; Right FX? :stickpoke:

hpi lists this part under the flux (also the xl) on their website. cant help but think they had durability in mind when they dreamed up this part.

Sexy parts are statistically proven to make your truck go faster.

I say save you money. I hardly doubt you'll see much of a performance gain. I mean if you have cash to blow go for it. There are sooooo many other things you could buy to increase performance, TI trany shafts are pretty low on my list.

thanks for the replies guys, i have a savage x ss,digital radio gear , apart from that it is standard, like the k4.6 engine,any idea's for more speed without losing torque or acceleration,was thinking gear box upgrades ?

I have and use them. I like them and have broke the stock input shaft off using a Modded picco with the slipper locked down. I got them to do a 3rd gear only, 1 speed conversion. Any rotational mass you remove from your drive line adds snap to your acceleration times. taking out 1st and 2nd gear I needed to shed drive line weight, these did help and the claims to 40% is on the money. These are WAY lighter then the stockers 4 sure. I give them a A +

Thats what i was thinking, especially if all three tranny shafts are swapped for the Ti upgrades, running the three speed i can only change the drive and gear shafts, according to the HPI site the Ti bottom idler shaft isnt compatible with the three speed.

I think il change mine over to Ti on the next tear down and see if i notice any difference.
