So you pinch the fuel line as close as possible before the golden metal entry into the carburetor right?

How many seconds should it run? Some people say 3 seconds, some say 4....I'm really unsure.

It's an approximate number, nothing to be too critical over. Go by the 3 second rule. If it's over 3 seconds then it's rich and if it's under 3 seconds its on the lean side but as long as it is close to 3 your good. You don't want it to die after like one second or stay running for like 5 seconds or more, just count to 3 in your head and if it is close your good. You should really tune by performance and smoke anyway, the 3 second rule is just an easy quick way to get an idea of where your setting is.

BTW I pinch mine a couple inches away from the HSN inlet. I don't think it matters as the suction from the line is completely cut off, it only burns what is left in the carb. Hope this help you out.

I was a little confused about the concept of the pinch test until you mentioned suction from the line so the fuel is completely cut off. I never even thought of that.. Thanks alot!
