trashed my trans today

anyone know what might have caused this? hit a few solid jumps, drove around a bit and then all of a sudden I only had 1st gear then I had no gear :-/ by the way my trans was shimmed, I ran 4 solid tanks on the trans since it was shimmed and this was the first run ever using a steel spur gear.....(if that has anything to do with it)

does anyone have a gear pack they would like to sell me?

did the metal part with the srews fall apart. its the tanish metal part

the 2 speed housing is cracked in a few places and a chunk was broken off, I don't see how it just falls apart. the screws did not back out if thats what your asking.

I will try to get the video up of what trashed your trans. If you ask me it probly is a result of those front flips. Let up a but late on the breaks and boom. Most likely started the other week and just gave way today.

MMMMM I got a bunch of them. That does look like a part let go and it ripped up. Mine have never had the damage on the 2nd gear. just the first one glazed up flat like that. But when it ripped apart (case) that could be when the plastic built up in the alloy final drive gears and locked it up. Mine just sheared off the input shaft at that point.

wow thats a nasty landing, It hurt to watch, By any chance where you on the throttle when it hit. I am thinking maybe something shifted in the tranny on impact, and if you where throttle it could have melted the gear if the mesh got messed up

i didnt see it right there, but we were all jumping like that that day - it may have been a rough landing, but I would think it was something internal that came loose and tore everything else up. Wish I had a better answer for ya AJ..

Something had to come loose from somewhere ... send a pic to HPI, I think they will be impressed !
