i know that c rash gave me the link to get a savage 2 speed for 15 bucks but will one of new heavy duty savage x trannys fit in my old savage 21?

only difference between the two is the new style has more webbing and the top half is removable. Makes tuning alot easier than pulling a TVP off to change shift points.

I realize they have the rubber plugs, but i have never had any luck trying to change shift points without removing the tranny. The new style comes apart by taking the roll bar off, then removing 3 screws.

Also makes changing your spur gear easier. If you can find one, but the new design.

I would get the x style case for what ever tranny you get. It will save you some head aches later.

ya i have to admit i like the x tranny better then the old style, must of been a real pain in the butt to work on having to tear your truck apart to work on it, now you take out 7 screws in total and the top lifts off!!!

Will the tranny i get from nitronutzz already be tuned when i get it?
It should be in the ballpark. But you might still want to fine tune it to your liking.

okay thanks, but i got some more problems that i found on the tear down getting the old tranny out, i broke a lower arm brace and and have to fix my brakes but it will all be an easy fix

just a quick question, I am new to the hobby and to the forums, but would the Savage X transmission assembly would fit into a savage 25? I am having problems with the tranny, and I am looking online for a new one, but all ebay has is the Savage X ones. I just want to know if its a direct fit. Thanks.
