tranny help

Just blew a .25 tranny on my xl fram. I run a xtm 457 6 port. I researched the three trannies that hpi offers and I think I would be better off with the 3 speed. Just need some input. Thanks

idk fastlane, i have a 3-speed but if/when it explodes, i will go back to the 2 speed. although it sounds kool to hear it run through the gears, the 3 speed isnt any faster than the 2 speed unless you add the hi-speed 3rd gear & to be honest, i don't think its much faster even with it.

speed is not what I want I just want to know if the 3 speed is stronger than the original 25 2 speed

any x tranny is stronger than the original. easier to work on to

The X case is stronger then what you had. But the X SS case has 3 screws that attach the easy access top and extra bracing on it for added strength. So the X SS case is the best of the 3.
I'm not sure if the Flux Savage tranny case is better or the same as the X SS or not. But it could also be a possibility if its compatible.

The newer RTR's also came with the XSS style tranny like mud said.
