hey guys i was wondering where to start? i have a top heavy savy 21 and the revos are eating me alive. cant keep it from ending up on its top and its costing me alot of wins. I'm not a racer but we are doing alittle back yard race/bashing sort of thing. what would be the best way to get the center of gravity were it needs to be with out a ton of cash i think you all know my savy but if not here are some pics thanks for any help:getdown:

I would start off by removing some of the shock spacers, and if that doesn't help enough you can put thinner shock oil in and if you still want lower, remove a shock from each corner.

I run 2 shocks on front, 4 on the rear. I also run the HPI RSC though.

Keeps it low but can still bash hard with it.

loose the roll cage, remove the shock spacers, put .75" of fuel tubing on the shock shafts inside the shocks to lower the truck, Get a set of savage x tvp's i got mine on ebay for $5 brand new w/ shipping, lower the body as low as possible, You could even get the xl axles that widen the stance but that would mean new dogbones and drive cups. you could do everything else for under 20 bucks though.

put your savage next to a revo & notice the difference in height & width.

your gonna need to get lower, wider & change your roll center.

i say you need this https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10291 its gonna change your roll center & allow you to tune your camber angle. only thing is you cant run 2 shocks up front.

secondly, if your gonna keep those stock shocks, do lyle's shock mod as pointed out by The Pope NJ https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11272

3rd, consider some 1/2" offset rims to widen your truck by 1".

this will get you started in the right direction & good luck caz revo's are designed to race. Have fun!

never had the shocks apart what are shock spacers? and the tubing, i have heard of that and will try it i guess i will find the spacers then. i don't like the idea of removing the roll cage do to the fact I'm not a real good driver yet but i do get your point. what exactly is the fuel tubiung for???

the shock spacers are those clips around the top of your shocks above the springs. The fuel tubing goes into the shock body on the shaft to shorten the shock lowering the truck and giving you a lower center of gravity. The roll cage I going to do you more harm than good racing. It makes the truck top heavy and add alot of weight when racing both are bad. put it on if you are bashing but you will take less damage to your truck racing without it as you wont wreck as much. I made my own parts to do the suspension conversion and they work great with a little time and effort you could do the same thing and still keep all eight shocks. For racing I would try a lighter weight shock oil as well.https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11712

Hi Nitromite. as said above the shock mod is a easy cheap way for lcg, not only does it help with roll-overs, imo it helps put the power to the ground better.

got it done, and i love it! guess i should post the pics here as well thanks everyone for the help!!!!

i think thats just crazy

yep that's right that is why I made my own cost me 12 Bucks for the rear axle carriers they don't have built in toe though but other than that mine works great keeps it on all fours at speeds that I couldn't imagin. Turns's great too alot better handling

That kit is pricey but WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!

I thought "man that is expensive!" When I bought it but after installing it, I think it was well worth the money and for me it is perfect!

So do I, but I'm in the same fix for cash...skrimping, scraping, and saving for it, though...

And thank you to everyone for helping NITROMITE...thank you SO much for making it even harder for me to beat him...darn it.
