I'ma keep simple, it's 20 degrees out. Should I break-in my Axial .28 or not. I'm itching to begin the break-in but I want to do everything right.

I'm in Virginia and this is Fahrenheit. 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

LOL - where JT and I live it might as well be just as cold as Canada - in which case it today would be about -10 in C :Mr.confused:

Can anyone answer my question? Should I break it in when it's 34 degrees out?

:hardlaugh: close enough to the Canada border anyhow. Just wrap the engine head to help slow down air flow around engine and keep the engine over 200*F. I say go for it.

I say run it. I personally can't wait for this &*^@ snow to be gone so I can get mine out and start bashing again!!!!! I think it should be ok if it's at least 40 F or higher.

Figures - just about the time the snow was melting like crazy and was starting to go away, we get another storm yesterday/today/tomorrow.

Thanks guys I found out I can't break it in. Because I "have to" go to a Saint Patrick's Day party. woopee:duh:

lol...I think I have a pretty good idea of what you're getting at. I assume you've been "informed" that you're going? Luckily, mine's been asked to be in a wedding party and is out trying on dresses and deciding on styles, etc. Do it ASAP so you can run it (IMHO)!!!!

The party went until 10:30, oh well whats done is done. I still have Sunday, while others are hung over I will be breaking in my Axial .28.

Got a 1/2 a tank thru it, it's just cooling off. Axial .28 is and easy engine to start.

Just finished the 4th tank, it's a great engine. The HS needle is very rich at factory setteings, the LS needle is right on. This engine sounds mean I'm tellin ya.

I had a towel around the engine to get it up to temps. I let it get up to 330 on accident. It was only at 330 for 3-4 minutes, it was smoking a little. I removed the towel and removed to glow plug. Let it cool and ran it again. Runs fine if not better.

Btw- I need a new pipe and a 3 speed, my truck flys but I know it can go faster.

ya just do it. If anything it might run a little lean from super thick air but ur savage will egt over it

Lol my STS got up to 430 at one point during break in, and it got their fast, still runs good and it has been so hot before while racing that the motor at WOT felt like it was at 1/4 throttle, come to find out it was 450+, a guy ran into the side and come to find out it made my header come off the motor partially, couldn't notice a sound difference until I went to cut the motor off, it was LOUD.....and with 5 gallons its still running! That motor ran twice that day and both races it came in 2nd by a lap and overheating like crazy, thanks to fans I got to race in the main!

Oh and this is my 900th post!!!
