throttlle cutting off

i was running my savage today and noticed the throttle cutting off. then noticed that steering wasn't working either. i know easy answer would be replace receive(or maybe transmitter) it is only 200 feet away when it cuts off and only for a couple of seconds. when i get i start walking to check out the problem it starts working again. only seems to happen when i come off throttle slowing down to turn. could the problem be that i am running rechargeable batteries in the transmitter(energizer 2450mah)

Stock radio?
Check the antenae wire for damage, if it is cut or cut down because of the length was too long it will "cut" down on the range of the system.

yes stock radio ad all 18" or so of antenna are still intact. what seems to happen is when i come off the throttle and idle i get a throttle blip then lose all connection for a few seconds. does not happen at all while i stay on throttle.

could just be the stock receiver...i had it take a crap on me 2 weeks after i bought it...
