i have been out running my savage 25 the last couple of days, i took it out today and everything was running fine, the all of a sudden it is stuck in 2nd gear, i can not figure out what is going on, any tips?

just adjust the transmision so it hits first .. its the screw thats at an angle in the trans case.. the two holes in the side f the case... take the rubber plug out that coveres the holes then line up the screw holes inside by turning the spur gear till you see where the screws are then hold the spur gear then turn the tire till its all lined up... the screw thats at a angle with is the scew twords the rear of the truck ... turn it out slightly counter clockwise.till it starts in first but still hits second gear .....hopefully i said all this right had kids in my ear dad this dad that ...lol..good luck...

i will give that a try, but i am just curious why it was shifting good and then it started this

think it might be a lil dirty where the set screw makes it shift .. probly be ok to just turn the allen wrench 1/4 turn in the right back out to where the original position was when you first put the wrench in the set screw ... eye ball the position of it before you turn it then go right back to where it was ... I'm think its just stuck a lil ...

got everything tore open, looks like a piece of my 39t gear is broke, it is broke on the inside where the clutch pack sits.

Get to the 2nd set screw in your trans and close it until it snugs, then back it out 1 1/2 times and that's your factory shift setting it's probably early. Make your adjustments from there don't try and find a shift point blindly.

thanks mickey, i got the gear from the lhs, i will order a X transmission to have a spare.
