Ok, a co-worker of mine has a savage 25 with the stock motor in it. Every time we go bashing he strips his spur gear. He has the 3 speed tranny in it. Ive tried to set this thing up 3 times. I use the paper method, same as I did in mine. I have no trouble with mine. His cb is a 17 and a 47 spur gear, we've also tried a 49 spur gear. Any ideas?

Like piney said check for engine movement, tranny movement, cracked AND/OR bent motor plate.

and don't forget the old fall back reason...make sure he's not holding the throttle wide open when landing jumps, or taking hard jolts...nothing demolishes spur gears faster in my opinion...

I agree with komodo. Check the slipper too, make sure its not set too tight or too loose.

Thanks for the input. We will check all that stuff out. The truck is new to him, got it off ebay. He's addicted.

check the cb bearings if they are worn they will heat up the cb and melt the spur also check the clutches. if these 2 things are bad it over heats the cb bad.
